Google Suite Authentication Change May 31, 17:00-17:15 PDT
Title: Migrate G Suite SAML Authentication to Okta


Issue: G Suite sign-on is currently being handled through Shibboleth, which relays authentication to Okta. This reduces logging accuracy and complicates the authentication process


Change: Update the SAML2 SSO configuration at https://admin.google.com/sjsu.edu/AdminHome?hl=en&pli=1&fral=1#SecuritySettings:exp=1&flyout=sso to the Okta URLs and certificate.

Investigating - The software used by call centers on campus (Finesse) is not authenticating new logins.

For those calling the campus, please note that you may be on hold for longer than usual as representatives may not be able to get to your call as quickly. Voicemail is still functional.

For those are signed into Finesse, the campus advises that you remain signed in, as if you sign out of the software, you may be unable to sign back in to resume answering calls.

Communication Services are investigating this issue and hope to have a solution soon.

COMMENTS:
Multiple circuits in the Sunnyvale hub site are unstable. The telco, AT&T, has
been engaged for further investigation. Updates will be provided as they
become available. This may impair Internet access and access to off-campus applications.
